Glitter Time!

  • Shadows: MAC Gesso (brow bone), Coastal Scents purple (crease), MAC Carbon (crease)
  • Base: MAC Mixing Medium Gel (lid), MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (entire lid)
  • Glitter: Makeup Forever Medium Sized Glitters
  • Lashes: House of Lashes Noir Fairy, Maybelline Great Lash
  • Liner: NYC Liquid Liner, MAC Black Track

Anyone who has worked with glitter before knows what a pain in the a** it can be! So I feel above all else, this look is a technical achievement indeed. Here's a few key tips for how I achieved this look:

  • Do the brows and crease first. Then go back in and "cut" the crease with black eyeshadow. This will help wipe away any excess glitter on the crease and create a more precise line
  • After I "cut" the crease with shadow, I went in with MAC Blacktrack, a gel liner and a small angled brush to make the line even sharper
  • You will have to glob the liquid liner on over the glitter. You're essentially painting over the glitter, so don't be shy with the liner, you want to make sure it's all covered!
  • This is a pro Makeup Forever glitter, I bought it at Nigel Beauty Emporium in North Hollywood, CA

Prom Glitter Makeup

Ahhh.... Prom season 'tis. Adding bright glitter to the lid is a perfect way to dress up the eyes without over doing it! This is a classic look for me, and it's relatively easy to do! For a link to one of my youtube videos on a glitter lid, click here.

Steps:

      1. Brows: Anastasia of Beverly Hills Brow Duo, and MAC Fluidline (Dipdown).
      2. Base: I applied my under eye concealer in a thin layer over the entire lid (MAC Select Cover-Up)
      3. Shadows: MAC Gesso (brow bone, MAC 252 brush), MAC Soft Brown (upper crease, MAC 224 brush), MAC Corduroy (crease, MAC 217 brush), MAC Carbon (inner crease, Sigma E56 brush).
      4. Glitter: I spread a thin layer of MAC Gel Mixing Medium over the lid, being very precise. With aMAC 252 brush I packed MAC Light Blue glitter on to the lid until it was as glittery as my glittery little heart desired.
      5. Lashes/Liner: Before cleaning up the glitter (because at this point it will be everywhere), I applied a coat of mascara (maybelline great lash), then applied a big sharp wing with NYC liquid liner. I made sure to apply it thick to cover all the glitter! Next I filled in the water line with MAC Blacktrack and shaded the bottom lash line with Corduroy eyeshadow.
      6. Finishing touches: To spiff the eyes up, I added Ardell 102 Demi lashes, and dusted some Caitlyn iridescent white shimmer around the tear ducts of the eyes!
